To all the people that think that violence in videogames incites IRL violence, I’ve got one picture for you.

I need a manicure.

I need a manicure.

This is getting ridiculous.  Since I’ve been gaming, I’ve never killed anyone, shot anyone, used Omnislash on Sephiroth, thrown hadoukens at Sakura, casted Cure on Rinoa, stomped on a goomba, killed Dracula, fought Metal Gear Rex in an abandoned missile disposal facility on Shadow Moses Island, and….

You get the picture.

There is no link between violence IRL and violence in videogames.  Can’t you people just accept that there are people that are just fucked up?  Seriously.

And as for you people that are willing to pin all the blame on videogames, if you’re willing to go so far to destroy the first amendment to protect the second amendment, then you deserve to get teabagged by a group of angry gamers jacked up on mountain dew.

I love you guys.

I love you guys.

  1. I have no doubt in my mind, as a parent, that violent games influence young minds. However, it is up to a parent to decide what their child can handle. If a game states it is for ages 14 and higher but your 15 year old has the maturity of a 12 year old don’t get them the game. Sit down with your children and explain the difference between games and real life. I played endless violent games as a kid and I still do. I would never let my kids even see one yet since they are too young to understand the dangers of the content if applied in a real life situation. I am not saying repress and shelter children since that can be just as damaging, I know many who would disagree but I don’t care, you need to find balance and stop blaming things like media (video games) and society.
